HOME COOK

Karrine Steffans is the New York Times best selling author or five titles, a stay-at-home and home school mom, and home cook. Born on the island of St. Thomas, in the Virgin Islands, Karrine began cooking at just six years old. Living in a home with nine other people, most of them women, food was the cornerstone of her existence and home life.

With the indigenous fresh fish, fruits, and vegetables of her homestead, and with her grandmother's rustic Caribbean techniques and recipes, Karrine developed a cooking style all her own and prides herself on being quite good at feeding her family nutritiously and with love.

Now, after running a food blog at the Karrine & Co.® website (and previous related sites) for the past several years, Karrine is thrilled to translate her home cooking experience into a set of related cookbooks for her devoted readership.

With special focus on healthy, natural, and organic eating as well as the utilization of local farmers markets, Karrine has plenty to teach but, also, plenty to learn. Thus, the author has partnered with Executive Chef Brian Stansberry to complete her vision of creating a culinary brand geared toward sustaining an improved quality of life, for her family and yours, through better, cleaner eating.

Chef Brian Stansberry began his career in San Francisco, California, where he was born and raised. Highly qualified and with his acumen well-founded, Chef Brian was formerly the Executive Chef of the four-star Crowne Plaza Hotel, as well as Chef Owner of the Ole Store Cafe located in Northfield, Minnesota. At the Ole Store Cafe, Brian received the accolade of “Best Restaurant Worth the Drive” from Mpls-St. Paul Magazine and was summoned to cater the wedding of the Chancellor of St. Olaf College, in addition to private dinners for the Reverend Jesse Jackson, as well as Senator Bob Dole, Senator Hillary Clinton, the King & Queen of Norway, the Ambassador to Bolivia, The Nobel Peace Prize Selection committee (450 dignitaries from around the world, sports figures, and celebrities).

With nearly twenty years of food service and chef experience, Brian Stansberry brings a vast array of knowledge and an impressive culinary education to Steffans & Stansberry, cleverly offsetting and enhancing the home cooking style of Karrine Steffans. Together, these two make a relatable team, determined and destined to change the way you think about, prepare, and serve food.

Chef Natalia de Oliveira

Natalia de Oliveira specializes in clean eating and gluten-free meal preparation. Born in Russia, Natalia spent summers at her grandmother’s house, near the Black Sea, where there was a plentiful garden, in an area where everything was grown and nothing was prepackaged or manufactured.  There, she would go mushroom hunting and fishing with her grandfather and, every evening, they would gather around the outdoor stove where Natalia helped prepare dinners.

Natalia's passion for cooking came from those summers.
